"The Story Equation" by Susan May Warren
I thought this could be a valuable asset to any aspiring author! A great walk-through on how to write genuine characters who will drive an authentic and relatable plot.

"No One Ever Asked" by Katie Ganshert
Katie's fiction calls one to wake up and pay attention. This book deals with racism and interracial tensions, and is based on a true story. It's not for everyone, but it's incredibly thought-provoking.

"Life After" by Katie Ganshert - Audiobook
A lone survivor of a terrorist bombing struggles with adjusting to life on the other side. Just as good the second time around, and had my family captivated as well.

"The Negotiator" by Dee Henderson - Audiobook
Can you believe this Christian fiction classic is almost 20 years old? Its age is showing a little, but there's a reason people love the O'Malley family!

"Flabbergasted" by Ray Blackson - Audiobook mostly, finished up with my hardback copy
Speaking of classics, this is one of my all-time favorites. Just read my review above - it will tell you everything you need to know. :-D

"The Heirloom" novella collection
Perfect reading for traveling! Four Christmas-themed stories, each set in the same family but spread apart through generations. From Regency England to modern day Washington state, these were simple but heartwarming tales.

"The Christmas Remedy" by Cindy Woodsmall and Erin Woodsmall
Another holiday novella, this one featuring a young Amish woman who has decided to dedicate her life trying to expand her people's views on modern medicine. Interesting twist on a real life issue.

"Norvia of North Star" by Anna Rose Johnson
I was honored to read this manuscript by a friend of mine, and I hope it won't be too long before you can read it, too! Anna is a talented, prolific writer who recently signed with an agent. I can't wait to see her books in publication!

"Must Love Pumpkins" by Tracy Joy Jones
Speaking of aspiring authors, Tracy's another one to keep your eye on! You can receive some of her free novellas if you sign up for her mailing list, and meanwhile I look forward to the news of her landing a book deal!

"With Every Breath" by Elizabeth Camden
I love how Elizabeth Camden takes what look like unremarkable moments from history and turns them into can't-put-down stories. This one focuses on tuberculosis research in 1891. Camden is a master at historical storytelling.

"Just the Way You Are" by Pepper Basham
My first Pepper Basham novel, and my main complaint was that it was extremely poorly edited. Pepper writes more straight-up romance than I prefer as well, but her characters were deep and interesting, keeping me wanting to know more about them.

"Mark of the Raven" by Morgan L. Busse
A step outside my normal reading fare, this is a novel that fantasy lovers might really enjoy. A young woman inherits her family's gift of dreamwalking, only to discover they have used it for extortion and murder. Will she continue on or stand up for truth and right?

"Who I Am With You" by Robin Lee Hatcher
Could. Not. Put. This. Book. Down. It doesn't release until Dec. 11th, but the world will receive a gift when it does. The plot was simple but the characters had deep emotions that I could totally relate to. Glad I decided to check this one out!

Books read in 2018: 53, and 8 novellas
