Hello! *waves*
I'm new here at the community and for you all to get to know me a little bit, I'm posting this introduction post.
I came through this community by following a link from
myrna_nora's LJ and was immediately interested as I'm a Christian and I like reading.
I'm a 28-year old PhD student from The Netherlands. I don't have as much time for reading as I would like to have (what's new, right?) but I usually read about 1 book a week (unless I'm reading something by Mr. Dickens, which takes me ages.... Really, do they have to be so long?). My reading taste is quite varied, but history and romance are two keywords. I love the classics (Austen, Gaskell, Dickens etc). I like Christian contemporary fiction, mainly if the setting is historical. Some of my favourite authors in this genre are Lynn Austin, Julie Klassen and Maureen Lang. I also enjoy to 'salten' my reading with a pinch of fantasy, I love all of Tolkien's work. Some of my other favourite authors, which do not really fit into the forementioned groups are Jasper Fforde, Luanne Rice and Lesley Pearce. I keep saying to myself I should read more non-fiction, but it never really happens....
I hope to post monthly lists of what I read with short reviews and post links to reviews or favourite author posts which I already post at my personal journal.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you and to read your posts!
