Dani Atkins - Then and always 3,5/5
On the last day Rachel Wiltshire and her highschool friends are all together in their town, they decide to celebrate life with a good dinner. Then a tragic accident tears Rachel's world apart and changes her future forever. When, five years later, Rachel returns to her hometown, she suffers a fall which lands her in hospital. When she wakes up the next day, the world she remembers is no longer there! Her father is not suffering from cancer as she remembered, she does not have the same job, she suddenly has a boyfriend. And, most importantly, a good friend she mourned for a long time, is not dead at all!
I watched some movies with a similar storyline, where a person can seemingly live two very different lives and I always liked these. The execution of this idea in Then and always was not as good as I had hoped, it was sort of left undecided what was actually going on with Rachel. I liked Rachel's connection to Jimmy, who really tried to believe her story and their romp through London. I liked her response to Matt, good riddance to him! But, I was left with the feeling there could have been more to this promising story.
