"The Sea Before Us" by Sarah SundinWyatt Paxton is running from a mistake that tore his brothers apart. Dorothy is a fun-loving woman who is trying to change her personality to win another man's attention. Set around the events of D-Day, these two may find their friendship a balm for their souls.
"Wildflower Bride" by Mary ConnealyThe final book in the Montana Marriage series was not as fun as the others, but that's partly because it tackled some really serious subjects.
"Party of One" by Joy Beth SmithThis is a book on singleness that I would recommend for women everywhere, married or unmarried.
"A Refuge Assured" by Jocelyn GreenThis book is set at the end of the American and French revolutions, and presents this time period in a way that is epic in scope. Jocelyn Green puts so many details into her fiction!
"Unlucky in Love and Lyrics" by Tracy Joy JonesAmelia's an amazing singer, but she has a form of stage fright that causes her to forget all her lyrics the moment she steps on stage. This is a fun novella and has a good bit of character depth as an added bonus.
"The Painter's Daughter" by Julie KlassenWhen Captain Stephen Overtree finds out his brother is out of the country and has left behind a young woman who is pregnant and terrified, he decides to take an honorable path and ask her to marry him. Is there any possibility the two of them can find a way to happy, loving future?
"The Weaver's Daughter" by Sarah E. LaddThis Regency novel reminded me so much of Gaskell's "North and South" -- mill owners, riots over things going on inside mills, an outspoken heroine, and principled hero. Much to enjoy!
"Forever Safe" by Jody Hedlund
"Never Forget" by Jody HedlundThese are the final two books in Hedlund's Beacons of Hope series, each focusing on a fictional tale at a different lighthouse. These two held some surprising twists and turns which took me by surprise.
"Then Came You" by Becky WadeAn easy to read epistolary novella setting up the author's Bradford Sisters Romance series. I enjoyed the unique style.
"True to You" by Becky WadeFirst book in said series. She's a genealogist, he's searching for his birth mother. I can see why Wade is a very popular author, but this pushes my comfort zone on a few issues.
"By the Shores of Silver Lake" by Laura Ingalls WilderIt is always good to revisit a Little House book! I read and discussed this one with my reading group. It had been several years since I'd read it, and there were many parts I hadn't remembered.
"Listen Up" by Marty MachowskiThis is a 13-week study on the parables of Jesus, written specifically to be used in a family devotions setting. I would recommend it!
Books read in 2018: 20, and 4 novellas
