"No Other Will Do" by Karen Witemeyer
A female-only community in 1880s comes under attack from a mysterious source. Emma Chandler must rely on her childhood friend to help find the bad buys before they do real harm to the town and its inhabitants.
"The Spirit-Led Heart" by Suzanne Eller
This is a study into the book of Acts and how women today can learn to be comforted, cautioned, and counseled by the Holy Spirit. There is a lot of good content in these pages!
"When Fireworks Fly" by Tracy Joy Jones
This is an aspiring author to keep your eye on. Currently unpublished, she is sending out novellas to her e-mail list a few times a year. This is the third of her stories I've read, and I've enjoyed them all! You can sign up for her newsletter if you'd like to receive this latest one.
"The Orphan's Wish" by Melanie Dickerson
Normally I really enjoy Melanie Dickerson's fairy tale retellings, but this Aladdin one fell flat to me. And to my sister. And to quite a few other reviewers. So proceed with caution! If you're interested in her stories I could recommend quite a few that are true delights.
"Pollyanna" and "Pollanna Grows Up" by Eleanor Porter
These are more classics that I somehow missed growing up but was prompted to read them by a discussion group. I really enjoyed them, especially the first one, and found them sweet and charming.
"The Lacemaker" by Laura Frantz
I'd read one book by Laura Frantz before and really, really disliked it. I decided to read this one after there was so much hype about it when it released in January. It is a wonderful pre-Revolutionary tale with characters who will keep drawing you in and stir your heart. Recommended for historical fiction fans!
Books read in 2018: 32, and 6 novellas
