Hi, my name is Krista and I'm a bookaholic. Reading truly is my addiction! I'm nearly 23 (will be at the end of the month) and a home-school grad. I'm the oldest daughter, but second oldest kid out of eleven ranging from nearly 25 to 9-1/2 months. I work full-time as a secretary in the sales office of a large local company that manufactures tools. It isn't a love of mine, but it's a job. And I can walk to work, yay!
I've been avid reader for as long as I can remember. From an early age, going to the library was the best part about the summer. My brothers and I would come home with stacks of books and by the time we'd go back to return them, I usually would have read not only mine, but my brothers' books as well. I developed the bad habit of skim-reading very young, a habit that still sticks to this day. I have trouble slowing down and not gulping books down in one sitting or skimming bits to get further into the story. If it's a really good book, I want to get to the end; if it's a boring book, I want to skim ahead to find out if it's worth finishing or not.
I mostly read fiction, with a spattering of non. I'm trying to work more non-fiction into my stack of books, but novels are so easy to pick up at any time and carry on with in the story. Non-fiction takes time to get back into, something I don't always have.
As far as fiction goes, I like somewhat of a variety. I love certain fantasy authors (C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, Robin McKinley and *whispers* J.K. Rowling)...and I have been a huge fan of historical fiction for a long time now. Other favorite authors include Jane Austen, Dickens, Gaskell, Brock & Bodie Thoene, Francine Rivers, Lynn Austin. Another favorite genre of mine is children's fiction, but I won't go into all that because I'll probably end up talking about it forever and bore you. ;-)
