The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890) - Oscar Wilde
Over the years, the portrait shows signs of age and sin while the man himself remains eternally youthful.
Once I got a little ways into the novel (and past a chapter in the middle, where I almost died of over-descriptiveness), I loved the book. I found it fascinating, exciting, witty, dark and brooding.
Death in the Clouds (1935) - Agatha Christie
Poirot investigates a murder that took place on an airplane.
I read this one before, at least I think I did, but I was a little hazy on some of the details. It's not my favorite Agatha Christie but it was still good.
Sylvester (1957) - Georgette Heyer
A Gothic novel writer crosses paths with the Duke who inspired the creation of her villainous character.
I have loved all Heyer's books so far. This one was a fun romance. The situations near the end become so outrageous... I laughed and swooned to Richard Armitage's audio book reading.
