This is the semi-sequel to the book I read last month. It's mostly about his participation on the committee that investigated the Challenger space shuttle explosion. There are far fewer of his wacky personal stories, but his character and unique perspective on life still shine through. It was a little shorter and didn't have nearly as much science talk either, but it was still very interesting and a good read. 3.5/5
Seconds Away
by Harlen Coben
Latest book in the Mickey Bolitar series. Coben definitely wanted to take this series in a different direction than the Myron books. There's a big conspiracy that is being slowly revealed in all the books, and the series is more one continual story then a series of related ones. It's kind of neat seeing Myron play the mentor character and see him through Mickey's eyes. Good stuff, I'll definitely read the next one when it comes out. 3.5/5
Running Blind [audio book]

This is the fourth book in the Jack Reacher series. I really didn’t care for the third book; I almost gave up on the series after that one, but the ending was good enough to give the series another chance, and I’m glad I did. This book was great; this time Reacher is forced into helping the FBI track down a ritualistic serial killer that leaves no trace at any of the crime scenes and has military ties. He’s also trying to deal with his newfound circumstances as a homeowner (after being a nomad all his life) and his relationship with the love of his life. The mystery is very well done and Child does a good job of misleading (tricking?) the reader. I’ll definitely keep going with this series. 3.5/5
