2014 Reading Survey

Hi, community!

First, I want to welcome any newcomers. If you are new and have not introduced yourself, please do. Just tell us a little about yourself and/or the books you like to read. Anything you want. Thanks!

Second, I thought I'd ask a few questions that you can answer in a post to the community. Ready?

1. How many books did you read in 2014? (If you don't keep track, you can give an estimate.)

2. Which did you read more: physical books (or on Kindle) or audiobooks?

3. What were your favorite books from the year?

4. Favorite new authors that you hope to continue reading in 2015?

5. And for fun: do you own an e-reader? If so, what kind?

1. 39
2. Audio, by far.
3. Last Night at the Chateau Marmont by Lauren Weisberger, Cress by Marissa Meyer, Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin, Where We Belong by Emily Giffin, Attachments by Rainbow Rowell, Lie Still by Julia Heaberlin.
4. Emily Giffin is definitely my favorite new-to-me author from 2014, and I want to read more of her stuff. Runner up goes to Beth Harbison and Rainbow Rowell.
5. Yes, a Kindle.

Happy new year!

1. I didn't keep track, but I'd estimate somewhere between 50-80? (This is why I made a "2015" shelf on Goodreads, so next year I can keep track better.)

2. Physical books - probably 10% were ebooks.

3. Jana Bibi's Excellent Fortunes by Betsy Woodman, Cress by Marissa Meyer, The Turtle of Oman by Naomi Shihab Nye, Keturah and Lord Death by Martine Leavitt

4. Not really new to me, but I'm looking forward to Susanna Kearsley's new book, and the next two from Marissa Meyer, and Heather Dixon's Illusionarium, finally!

5. No. Well, does my iphone count?

1. 66, unfortunately just a little less than 2013.

2. About 50/50 ebooks and physical books

3. Patrick Carr's A Cast of Stones, Cress by Marissa Meyer, Call the Midwife by Jennifer Worth

4. Patrick Carr, Elizabeth Camden

5. I don't own an e-reader, I read ebooks on my phone
