1. Do you prefer to read hardcover or paperback books?
I generally have no preference. Hardcovers often look nicer, but paperbacks are easier too lug around (very important :-D ). As the contents are the same, it has no influence on my reading pleasure.

2. Do you have a favorite place to read in your home?
Not at the moment. I love reading in comfortable/lazy chairs, and unfortunately we have none of those. Our couch makes for a good substitute though :)

3. Do you have a favorite place to read away from, or outside of, your home?
I love going to a coffee shop, buying my drink of choice and curling up with a good book for an hour or so. Of course, they often have the comfortable chairs I'm missing at home ;-) It gets a tad expensive though, so I don't do it too often.

4. Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack?
Not as a rule. I read too often for that ;-) But of course I do occasionally eat while reading - typically chips or chocolate.

5. Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
Depends on whether it's fiction or non-fiction. Non-fiction and reference books I'll happily mark, but I'd never dream of writing in a fictional book.

6. How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open?
Bookmarks, or some sort of paper that'll substitute for one. I used to be able to just remember my page, but I read too many books at the same time now for me to be able to do that. Occasionally I'll lay my book flat open, but only if the spine is already broken. I'd never, never, ever dog-ear a book, and would spite anybody who'd do that to any of my books!

7. Fiction, Non-fiction, or both?
Generally fiction, as I either demand more of a non-fiction or there are fewer around that interest me. Last year I read 244 books, and only 26 of those were non-fiction.

8. Hardcopy or audiobooks?
Generally hardcopy. I love listening to audiobooks, but hardcopy is just so much more accessible. Also, it's more difficult to 'rush' an audiobook, if I find one I really can't put down ;)

9. Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point?
I prefer to read until I reach the end of the chapter (or the book, preferably ;) ), but I'll happily put it down at any time, if the situation calls for it.

10. If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away? Write it down to look it up later? Just try to infer what it means from the rest of the sentence, and keep going?
If I can guess the meaning of the word from the context I just move on, otherwise I stop and look it up right away (doesn't happen too often though).

11. What are you currently reading?
Audiobook: Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie
Inspirational: Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott
Random reading: The Dragon's Eye by Kaza Kingsley and Priestess of the White by Trudi Canavan.

12. What is the last book you bought?
Kongemordet by Hanne-Vibeke Holst - the second book in a political trilogy. I had borrowed the audiobook last year sometime, and enjoyed the book so much that when I found it on sale (which in Denmark means it "only" cost US$20... there's a reason why I go amok shopping when abroad) I immediately picked it up.

13. What is your all time favorite book?
Noooo! I can't pick just ONE! How about "Best book I've read this month"? Even that's difficult, but I think I'll go with The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, although Enchantment by Orson Scott Card runs a close second.

14. Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can read more than one at a time?
LOL! I think question 11 answered that quite eloquently. I get restless if I'm only reading one book at a time. I like a bit of variation. It comes naturally usually, seeing as I can't read while biking, and seldom listen to my audiobook at home,

15. Do you like re-reading books?
Most of the time, although I've discovered that I don't reread books NEARLY as often as I used to. I'm getting better at broadening my horizons :)
